ABOUT ME

I am a Lecturer in Linguistics at Macquarie University in Sydney where I co-direct the Language Acquisition Lab. I am also the Deputy Director of Macquarie's Centre for Language Sciences. Prior to this appointment, I held postdoctoral positions at the Department of Linguistics and Philosophy at MIT and at the Centre of Excellence in Cognition and its Disorders at Macquarie University. I completed my PhD in Linguistics at Utrecht University in 2013.

My research explores the structure of human language and how it is acquired by young children. I study what sentence structures are acceptable in the grammars of young children and how they interpret these structures. I use a variety of behavioral methods to explore these questions.
